Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the BPO industry
- Previous experience in a healthcare or medical office setting is highly preferred
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems, Microsoft 365, and Microsoft Excel
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, insurance policies, patient eligibility verification, and healthcare billing practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to customer service
- Demonstrated accountability and professionalism
Responsibilities
- Answer patient calls and assist with inquiries, appointment scheduling, and general information.
- Respond to patient inquiries regarding scheduling, insurance coverage, billing, appointment eligibility, and procedure codes.
- Educate patients on insurance benefits, including copayments, coinsurance, deductibles, and coverage details.
- Verify insurance information and coordinate with insurance providers to support accurate billing.
- Serve as the primary liaison between patients and healthcare providers.
- Route medication refill requests, referrals, and other telephone encounters to providers, ensuring timely follow-up.
- Maintain accurate patient records by documenting insurance information, appointments, and communication history in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Advocate for patients by addressing concerns, promoting comfort, and helping them understand healthcare processes.
