Operations Specialist Mid
Key Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Logistics Coordinator to manage end-to-end freight operations, carrier relationships, and customer service, working closely with the owner as an integral part of day-to-day operations.
Core Responsibilities:
Freight & Shipment Management:
• Coordinate freight movements from pickup through final delivery.
• Manage multiple active shipments and priorities simultaneously.
• Dispatch and communicate with carriers and drivers.
• Track and trace shipments proactively as needed.
• Confirm pickup and delivery details and maintain accurate shipment information.
• Identify potential service failures before they become larger problems.
• Provide timely and professional shipment updates.
• Escalate critical issues appropriately while bringing potential solutions to the conversation.
Carrier Management & Negotiation:
• Source and communicate with qualified carriers.
• Negotiate rates confidently while protecting service quality and company margins.
• Build productive carrier relationships.
• Evaluate carrier reliability, communication, and service performance.
• Handle challenging conversations professionally and respectfully.
• Think beyond simply “covering the load” and consider the overall customer and business impact.
Customer Service:
• Communicate professionally and pleasantly with customers.
• Understand customer expectations and priorities.
• Provide proactive updates rather than waiting for customers to request information.
• Help resolve service issues calmly and effectively.
