Department Overview

The Department of Construction Management is a team of interdisciplinary faculty and staff committed to educating future professionals in the construction industry. The Construction Management Department provides many opportunities for those interested in pursuing a career in this field. The options we have for our students include: Major in Construction Management; Minor in Construction Management; Major in Architectural Studies; Master of Science in Construction Management; Professional Development Program.

Position Summary [course catalog link]

The successful candidate is expected to teach a broad range of courses in construction management at both graduate and undergraduate levels. We are especially interested in candidates with a strong teaching interest in, but not limited to, building materials and methods,



construction graphics, cost estimating, planning and scheduling, construction safety, design-build project delivery, project controls, and preconstruction services. Candidates with a specialty in generative design, lean construction, BIM, robotics, and automation, as well as data sciences in construction are strongly encouraged to apply. Other responsibilities may include student advising and supervision; working with a diverse community of students and faculty.

Instructor Responsibility

Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2. Instructors are responsible for the preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading (as appropriate) lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams.
