The Department of Child and Family Science serves over 450 majors and 100 minors, most of whom are female, members of under-represented ethnic minority groups, and first-generation college students. Students choose an option in either Child Development or in Family Science. We have 7 full-time faculty, and typically about 10 part-time faculty.

Position Summary [course catalog link]

We Often Need Faculty To Teach Child Development Classes, Family Science Classes, And Sometimes Our Writing, Research Methods, And Theory Classes. These Are Almost Always Face-to-face Classes Offered During Daytime Hours. Course Availability Varies Each Semester And Is Difficult To Predict. Please Review Courses Offered In The Department And Indicate Which Ones You Believe Yourself To Be Qualified To Teach.



Classes Most Often In Need Of An Instructor Include
- CFS 31 (Family Science),
- CFS 38 (Lifespan Devel),
- CFS 39 (Child Devel),
- CFS 134 (Culture & Diversity),
- CFS 135 (Parent Education), and
- CFS 137 (Care of Infants & Toddlers),
- or other classes that may be identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.

Instructor Responsibility:

Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system-wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2. Instructors are responsible for the preparation, delivery, conducting, proctoring, and grading (as appropriate) lectures, office hours, homework assignments, quizzes, class projects, and midterm and final exams. All classes must be offered and meet as scheduled throughout the entire semester, in the mode assigned and listed in the schedule of classes (i.e. asynchronous, synchronous,
