Who You Are
You are a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer who thrives at the intersection of backend and frontend development, writing high-quality, production-grade code in Kotlin or Python and React, Redux, and TypeScript. You bring strong architectural judgment around distributed systems and relational databases, and you're comfortable owning the design and implementation of scalable, service-oriented APIs and data models.



You work well cross-functionally, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and are organized enough to manage complexity while surfacing what matters most.
What You’ll Do
- Write high-quality, production-grade code for backend (Kotlin) and frontend (React, Redux, TypeScript)
- Design software solutions and contribute directly to their implementation
- Work cross-functionally with Product, Analytics, and other engineering teams across affirm
- Build APIs and data models aligned with the organization's defined service-oriented architecture

What You Bring
- 6+ years of experience as a full stack senior software engineer, working across backend (Python or Kotlin) and frontend
- Strong understanding of relational database systems and best practices
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and how architectural decisions impact performance and maintainability
