About the Role We are hiring a Fire Sprinkler BIM
Designer to produce and coordinate detailed fire protection models
and shop drawings for commercial and multi-unit residential
projects. This role requires strong HydroCAD experience, knowledge
of NFPA standards, and the ability to coordinate sprinkler systems
with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and
electrical plans. Responsibilities Model complete fire sprinkler
systems in HydroCAD, including piping, sprinkler heads, sleeves, and related components. Produce coordinated shop drawings based on
engineer-provided plans. Model reflected ceiling plans and
coordinate sprinkler head placement with ceiling layouts. Prepare
models that support prefabrication and efficient field
installation. Coordinate sprinkler layouts with architectural, structural, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. Perform
clash detection and resolve coordination issues using Navisworks.
Update models based on revised architectural and structural
backgrounds. Address comments and revisions from sprinkler
engineers and project managers. Apply applicable NFPA standards, including NFPA 13 and NFPA 14. Review work for accuracy and
completeness before submission. Maintain organized project files
and documentation.
Perform hydraulic calculations when required.
Hydraulic calculation experience is preferred but not required.
Requirements Experience with commercial or multi-unit residential
projects. Expert-level proficiency in HydroCAD. Working knowledge
of Autodesk Revit 2026 MEP. Working knowledge of Navisworks for
clash detection and coordination. Familiarity with AutoCAD for file
conversion, backgrounds, and legacy drawings. Strong understanding
of sprinkler system design and layout principles. Working knowledge
of NFPA fire protection standards. Ability to interpret
architectural, structural, and MEP drawings. Ability to work
independently and manage revisions with minimal supervision. Strong
attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Preferred
Qualifications Associate's or bachelor's degree in Fire Protection
Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a
related field. NICET certification or similar fire protection
credentials. Experience with MSuite. Experience performing
hydraulic calculations. Position Details Full-time, 40 hours per
week, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
