Responsibilities

● Turn business questions into measurable definitions, working directly with Product and the business.

● Own the definitions used in reports — what counts as a lead, an appointment, a meaningful interaction. Get them agreed, then document them so they stay agreed.

● Clean up historical data so it can be reported on, reconciling inconsistencies where source systems were not built for reporting.

● Propose reporting requirements for new products before they are built, and work them through with the product engineering teams so events arrive ready for reporting.

● Build pipelines, data preparation, reports and report APIs on the DistilX data platform.

● Agree API contracts with the team building the reporting platform.

● Verify correctness against real dealer behaviour, and investigate discrepancies in SQL.

● Establish the facts when the data and the documentation disagree, by searching the code and knowledge base and by consulting the system owners.

Skillset Must have:

● Working SQL — enough to explore data and check results.

● Experience with any of the popular programming languages — Python, Java, JavaScript or similar.

● Knowledge of event or clickstream data: journeys, funnels, attribution.

● Experience building and maintaining data pipelines.





● Experience with PowerBI or similar BI tools.

● Comfort working with AI data tooling, and the habit of checking its output.

● Can establish what a system emits and when, by searching an unfamiliar codebase and by finding and asking the people who know.

● Works with Product and the business to pin down what a report should measure.

Nice to have:

● Experience querying big data — Redshift, Athena or similar.

● Experience with GA4.

● Excel or Google Sheets, including formulas — the platform's language is spreadsheet-like, so that experience carries over.

● Reporting that answers real business questions.

● Numbers that hold up when a dealer or an executive challenges them.

● Definitions that are written down and stay stable, so reports remain comparable over time.

● New products instrumented for reporting before they ship.

● One technical owner for the new reporting, working with counterparts in the client's Product and business teams.

● Proactive learning of the DistilX platform and ownership of the reporting products already built on it.

● Feedback on what the platform is missing: feature requests ahead of a build, and gaps found during one.
