About the Opportunity

Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, secure, and optimize Oracle database environments that support critical healthcare operations.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of production database environments while supporting business-critical applications and maintaining compliance with organizational and industry standards.

The idóneo candidate is a hands-on Oracle DBA with strong experience in database administration, performance tuning, backup and recovery, troubleshooting, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, configure, administer, and maintain Oracle database environments.
- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes.
- Administer Oracle RMAN backups and support recovery operations.
- Support Oracle Data Guard and high-availability environments.
- Perform database patching, upgrades, migrations, and related maintenance activities.
- Monitor database health, storage utilization, and capacity requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve database incidents, performance issues, and availability problems.
- Manage database security, user access, permissions, and data integrity.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and development teams to support enterprise systems.




- Participate in production support and on-call activities as required.
- Develop and maintain database documentation, procedures, standards, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure database environments follow organizational security policies and applicable healthcare and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
- Strong experience administering Oracle Database 11g, 12c, 19c, or newer.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle RMAN and backup/recovery strategies.
- Experience with Oracle Data Guard and high-availability environments.
- Knowledge of Oracle database performance tuning and optimization.
- Experience with database monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems.
- Experience supporting enterprise production environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with infrastructure, application, and development teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Oracle Database Administration certifications.
- Experience supporting healthcare or highly regulated environments.
- Experience with high availability and disaster recovery architectures.
- Scripting experience with Shell, Bash, or Python.
- Familiarity with cloud database technologies and cloud-based infrastructure.
- Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
