Busway Project Engineer

LS Cable & System Colombia's Busway division is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team at our Bogota, Colombia office.

This role offers a unique chance to develop top-tier products and features through product research, design, validation, deployment, and maintenance to meet market demands. The position involves providing technical expertise on busway products and contributing significantly to annual engineering growth projects.

Responsibilities

- Convert internal and external customer requirements into specific performance criteria.
- Create technical documents such as datasheets, interface control documents, and test plans.
- Design, model, and test product prototypes. Continuously enhance existing products through design and competitive analysis.
- Collaborate with other LS Cable & System electrical businesses and external suppliers to develop new features and design improvements within the product line scope.
- Ensure product compliance with industry and certification standards (UL, NEC, CSA, NEMA, IEEE, CANENA).- Act as a technical consultant for the product line. Identify and evaluate opportunities for product development and redesign.
- Discover technology upgrades and cost reduction opportunities to maintain the product line's competitive edge.
- Communicate new designs and products with the product line and monitor standards.
- Guide manufacturing engineers during product development and the upgrade of existing products.



Provide technical direction to production employees. Maintain drawings, product structure, and design standards.
- Work with manufacturing teams to design processes and products that meet market and customer needs.

Qualifications

Required

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution.
- At least one (1) year of engineering or technical experience in design and/or manufacturing.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools, and REVIT BIM Application.
- Mandatory requirement: English proficiency at a minimum B2/C1 level.
- Valid USA B1/B2 Visa.

Preferred

- Experience in a design role.
- Experience in a value-add/value-engineered role.
- Project management experience.

Skills

- Understanding of product life-cycle management systems.
- Knowledge of fabrication methods for sheet metal, plastic, copper, and aluminum.
- Familiarity with UL 857, IEEE C37.23, UL 98, UL 489, and NEC standards.
