Our engineering teams — anchored by a world-class organization in Australia — have built FSM software that is trusted by thousands of businesses globally. We are now investing in a new engineering hub in Medellín, Colombia, and are looking for a Director of Engineering to build and lead this team.

?About the Role

We’re looking for Engineering Managers to join our growing engineering organization in Medellín. We currently have two Engineering Manager opportunities, each focused on building and leading a new engineering team for a different product.

These are hands-on leadership roles responsible for team development, technical direction, delivery, and support, with AI-native development practices as a core lever to accelerate delivery, improve code quality, and increase team velocity.

Both roles will involve building and scaling the Medellín engineering teams while working closely with our established global engineering organization in Australia. The teams will extend existing product capabilities, accelerate roadmap delivery, and operate as high-velocity engineering pods within the global organization.

Product Opportunities

? Product 1 – Mobile-Focused Product

This Engineering Manager will build and lead a team focused on a mobile-oriented product and experience, working with technologies such as:

- Angular
- Ionic
- React Native
- Capacitor

The role will focus on building the engineering team, establishing development practices, accelerating delivery through AI-native approaches, and ensuring strong collaboration with the global engineering organization.





? Product 2 – Backend / SaaS Product The second Engineering Manager will lead a team focused on a backend/cloud-based product, with a technology environment including:

- PHP
- .NET
- C#

This role will similarly be responsible for building and scaling the Medellín engineering team, owning delivery, establishing engineering practices, and partnering with global engineering leadership.

? Key Responsibilities

- Build the organization: Recruit, interview, and hire engineers, tech leads, and future engineering leaders for the Medellín teams.
- Accelerate delivery with AI: Champion AI-first and AI-native development practices and tooling to increase development speed, improve code quality, and increase team velocity.
- Set the foundation: Establish engineering practices, tooling, coding standards, and delivery rhythms suited to a distributed, multi-region product organization.
- Partner across time zones: Build strong relationships with engineering leadership in Australia to align on architecture, roadmap, and ways of working.
- Own delivery: Take accountability for the Medellín team's contributions to the product roadmap while balancing speed, reliability, and quality.
- Represent Colombia globally: Act as the voice of the Medellín engineering team in leadership discussions and planning cycles.
- Scale responsibly: Design an organizational structure, including squads, technical leads, and career paths, that can grow over time while sustaining high velocity.
- Develop engineering talent: Mentor engineers and technical leaders while establishing a strong culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.





Requirements

- Proven experience leading software engineering teams, ideally including experience building or scaling a new team, office, or engineering function.
- Strong hands-on technical background with the credibility to hire, evaluate, and mentor senior engineering talent.
- Experience building and maintaining cloud/SaaS solutions, preferably on AWS, with a strong understanding of scalability and high availability.
- Experience working within a distributed/global engineering model, collaborating effectively across time zones and cultures. Australia/APAC experience is a plus.
- A proven track record of recruiting, interviewing, and building high-performing engineering teams.
- Strong executive presence, communication skills, and the ability to represent the Medellín engineering organization with senior leadership.
- Experience with one or more of the relevant technology environments is highly valuable, particularly mobile technologies such as Angular, Ionic, React Native, and Capacitor, or backend technologies such as PHP, .NET, and C#.
- Strong interest in and experience adopting AI-assisted or AI-native software development practices is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in FSM, vertical SaaS, B2B software, or similar product environments is a plus, but adaptability and leadership capability matter more than specific domain expertise.
