The Master of Public Administration (MPA) program at California State University, Fresno, housed in the Department of Political Science, provides a professional degree to individuals seeking to serve the public through the effective and ethical administration of public programs. To accomplish this, the program faculty promote and teach the following core competencies: To lead and manage in public governance; to participate in and contribute to the public policy process; to analyze, synthesize, think critically, solve problems, and make decisions; to articulate and apply a public service perspective; and to communicate and interact with a diverse and changing workforce and citizenry.

The MPA Program seeks part‑time lecturers to teach one and three unit courses as needed.



One unit courses will be practitioner seminars related to the part‑time faculty member’s professional experience in Public Administration. Note: 1‑unit classes may not run for the entire semester.

The department seeks qualified candidate(s) to teach graduate courses such as:
- Administrative law, public communications, strategic planning, funding and resource development, and other relevant topics for public and nonprofit administrators;
- or other classes that may be identified as needed to fulfill educational goals of current students.

Instructor Responsibility

Temporary faculty members are responsible for adherence to and implementation of university and system‑wide policies as directed per Academic Policy Manual 306, paragraph 2.
