Job Details:
Under the general direction of the Regional Controller, the US Accountant II is based in Bogotá, Colombia, and is responsible for performing US-focused accounting tasks and activities in accordance with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP), company policies, and internal controls. This role supports US-based entities and works closely with US-based employees across Finance, FP&A;, and other cross-functional teams. The position requires excellent English communication skills — written and verbal — as all day-to-day interactions, documentation, and reporting will be conducted in English.
- Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries in support of the US monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
- Perform balance sheet and certain income statement GL account reconciliations on a monthly basis, investigating and resolving reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.




- Maintain and update the monthly close checklist, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and within established deadlines.
- Prepare and analyze intercompany transactions and reconciliations across US entities.
- Support the preparation of audit schedules and provide documentation for internal and external auditors.
- Record and maintain fixed asset ledgers, including depreciation, disposals, and capital expenditure tracking in accordance with company policies.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding or aged items.
- Assist with lease accounting in compliance with ASC 842 by ensuring all active leases are accurately captured in LeaseCalcs, maintaining up-to-date lease schedules, and preparing related journal entries.
