About Decibel

Decibel is an exchange where equities, real world assets, commodities, indices and crypto trade around the clock, weekends included, all from one margin account. Matching, margin and liquidation happen onchain, so a trader can check our numbers instead of taking our word for them.

We launched in February 2026 and crossed $5B in cumulative volume in July. We are not building only for crypto natives. We are building for people who already trade equities and commodities and have never touched a wallet, and for anyone who wants access to more financial products, in more hours, than their current venue offers.

The team is small, scrappy and ambitious, and it runs financial infrastructure that does not close. Markets are open 24/7/365 and so is the venue, which means the team operates the same way: someone is always awake, releases go out on the day they are ready rather than on a Thursday, and the person who finds a problem is usually the person who chases it down. Many functions here are being built by the first person hired into them.

Less structure, more ownership, and your work reaching real traders within days.

About the role

Video is our primary marketing channel, and we are building production in-house. You are our first dedicated editor.

You will produce most of the video Decibel publishes: short vertical pieces for TikTok, Reels and Shorts, at a cadence of one piece every two days. There is a written video standard, four formats in rotation, and a content calendar, and you will work inside a small marketing team that includes a content designer and a community lead. Because the team is small, you will be involved from the idea rather than handed a brief and a folder of clips.

This is a high-cadence production role. Shipping every two days means the craft shows up across the body of work rather than in any single cut, and some of the strongest pieces will be a fifteen-second screen recording with a caption and a sound cue. When something works, you will be able to point at numbers rather than opinions.

What you will make:

The proof.

A screen recording of something live that should not be. Gold moving on a Sunday. A funding countdown on an equity. A Korean name trading at three in the morning. Fifteen to thirty seconds. Highest volume,

cheapest to make, and the closest thing we have to a scroll-stopper. Our strongest asset is the product itself on a weekend, and it cannot be faked by a competitor that does not list these markets.

The mechanic.

One idea explained with a worked example on screen. Forty-five to sixty seconds. The hardest format to make well, because the idea has to survive being simplified.

The walkthrough.

Wallet to first fill on a phone, one take, no cuts. The highest-priority piece we make, because it shows a new trader exactly what to expect. The one-take rule is what makes it credible.

The desk note.

One market, one view, one catalyst, in the language this audience speaks.

The comedic relief.

A short, in the public eye clip poking fun at common trading experiences or market situations, keeping the content relatable and engaging.

The standard you would work to:

These rules are already written down, so you will know what good looks like from day one.

- Thirty to sixty seconds, one idea. The claim lands in the first three seconds or the viewer is gone
- Open with the fact, not the brand. "The market shut two hours ago. This chart is still moving." Nobody watching owes us a sentence
- Screen recording beats motion graphics. Motion frames the proof, it is not the proof itself
- Shoot vertical and shoot mobile. The audience is a person on a phone with a app on the same home screen
- Sound is not decoration. We are named after a unit of loudness. One sonic signature, used on everything. Until it exists, no music beats stock music
- Generative tooling carries volume, a human finishes. Tooling does b-roll, plates, variants and first cuts. You do the concept, the sound, the final ten percent, and the decision not to ship
- The test: if a competitor could publish it with the logo swapped, it does not go out

What we are looking for:

- 2 to 4 years editing video in a marketing context. Content made to move a number, where somebody looked at the result afterwards
- A portfolio of short vertical social video for TikTok, Reels or Shorts. We will watch it, and we care more about the first three seconds of each piece than the polish of any of them
- Strong Premiere or Final Cut, plus After Effects or equivalent for motion graphics. CapCut is not a disqualifier; it is often the right tool
- Screen recording and screen-capture craft. A meaningful share of what you make here is the product itself, shot well
- Sound design instinct. You know why a cut lands, and you can build a piece that works with the sound off and better with it on
- You work fast and you finish. Volume is part of the job, and a good piece shipped today beats a better one next week
- Marketing judgment, not just craft. You can look at a hook and say why it will not hold, and you can tell us when a brief is wrong
- Fluent working English, written and spoken. Briefs, feedback and most of the team run in English
- Based in Medellín, and available four days a week in the Milla de Oro office

Nice to have:

- Practical use of generative video and AI tooling as part of a real workflow. This is how we intend to carry volume, and someone who already works this way will move much faster here
- Experience in fintech, trading, betting, gaming or any consumer app with an onboarding funnel. Content that had to explain a mechanic rather than just look good is the closest thing to this job
- Motion design and light graphic design, so you are not blocked waiting on someone else for a lower third
- Interest in markets or trading. You do not need to be a trader, but you will find this easier if you are curious about it
- Spanish, though the team runs in English

Compensation COP 3,500,000 to 6,000,000 per month

, depending on experience and portfolio.

How to apply:

Apply and include your portfolio with a short note. The portfolio matters most and we will watch it before we read anything.

- Three to five short vertical pieces you cut. For each, tell us what it was for and what it did.

We move quickly on strong candidates and will pay for a short trial piece before an offer.
