Sales Development Representative (SDR)
About the Role The Sales Development Representative (SDR) sits at the critical intersection of marketing and sales. Your job is to turn marketing activity into real pipeline — filling events with the right prospects, executing outbound outreach across email, phone, and LinkedIn, and ensuring that every lead generated by marketing is followed up, warmed up, and handed to sales at the right moment.
You are the human engine behind GFT's go-to-market programs. While marketing creates the campaigns and events, you make sure the right people show up, the right conversations happen, and no lead goes cold. You work closely with both the regional marketing team and sales to ensure tight alignment between marketing programs and revenue outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Event Prospecting & Attendance Drive
- Own the pre-event outreach strategy to ensure GFT's events and conference presence are filled with qualified target prospects.
- Execute targeted outbound campaigns via email, phone, and LinkedIn to drive registrations and attendance for GFT-hosted and third-party events.
- Work with the Events Manager and regional marketing head to understand target audience profiles and prioritize outreach lists accordingly.
- Coordinate with sales to secure pre-set meetings at key events and conferences, ensuring sales teams arrive with a full and qualified meeting schedule.
- Track and report on event registration and meeting targets, flagging shortfalls early and adjusting outreach approach as needed.
Outbound Prospecting & Go-to-Market Support
- Execute outbound prospecting campaigns in support of GFT's go-to-market programs and marketing-led initiatives — including email sequences, cold calling, and LinkedIn outreach.
- Work from target account lists and adecuado customer profiles (ICPs) defined by marketing and sales leadership to identify and engage the right prospects.
- Personalize outreach based on campaign messaging, industry verticals,
and individual prospect context to maximize engagement and response rates.
- Maintain consistent outreach cadences across all active programs, ensuring no prospect falls through the cracks.
- Collaborate closely with the regional marketing team to align outbound messaging with active campaign themes and go-to-market plays.
Post-Event Lead Follow-Up & Nurturing
- Own the post-event follow-up process for all leads and contacts generated at events, conferences, and activations, in liaison with the marketing program manager.
- Execute timely and personalized follow-up outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn to keep GFT front of mind following event interactions.
- Qualify post-event leads against agreed criteria, identifying those ready for sales engagement and those requiring further nurturing.
- Warm up leads through consistent, value-driven communication until they are ready to be transitioned to sales.
- Work with the digital campaign team to ensure leads are correctly captured, tagged, and tracked in Pardot and Salesforce.
Sales Alignment & Pipeline Contribution
- Work in close partnership with regional sales teams to ensure smooth handoff of qualified leads and pre-set meeting briefs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all prospect interactions, outreach activity, and lead status in Salesforce.
- Participate in regular sales and marketing alignment meetings to review pipeline contribution, program performance, and outreach priorities.
- Provide feedback to the marketing team on prospect responses, objections,
and market sentiment to inform future campaign and messaging strategy.
Required Experience & Skills
- 2–4 years of experience in a marketing development, sales development, or inside sales role.
- Proven track record of outbound prospecting across email, cold calling, and LinkedIn.
- Experience supporting event-driven outreach and pre-event meeting scheduling.
- Must have experience with Salesforce CRM and marketing automation tools such as Pardot or equivalent.
- Strong written communication skills — able to craft compelling, personalized outreach that cuts through the noise.
- Comfortable with cold calling and confident on the phone in a professional B2B context.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple outreach campaigns and follow-up sequences simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of B2B sales cycles and the role of marketing in pipeline generation.
- Ability to work closely with both marketing and sales stakeholders and navigate the relationship between the two.
- Experience in a B2B technology, IT services, or financial services environment.
- Experience with sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft, or equivalent).
- Experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator for prospecting and outreach.
- Understanding of account-based marketing (ABM) and how outbound prospecting supports ABM programs.
What Success Looks Like in This Role
- GFT events and conferences are attended by the right prospects, and sales teams arrive with full, qualified meeting schedules.
- Outbound outreach campaigns are executed consistently, on message, and on time across all active go-to-market programs.
- Post-event leads are followed up promptly and no lead goes cold due to lack of outreach.
- A steady flow of warmed, qualified leads is handed to sales with full context and interaction history.
- Marketing and sales are tightly aligned on lead quality, handoff process, and pipeline contribution.
