What you will build

We are building an iPhone application that scans a real room and lets you place three dimensional furniture inside it in augmented reality. RoomPlan captures the room. ARKit places the objects. That is the whole product surface, and it is the whole job.

The interesting part is what we have not solved yet. Putting one object on the floor is straightforward. Putting a lamp on a table so it stays on the table, hanging a painting flat against a real wall, mounting a chandelier to a real ceiling: those are the problems we need you for. If relational placement and surface anchoring sound like a problem you want to spend your time on, this is the role.

The work

- Room scanning with the RoomPlan Application Programming Interface (API): capture sessions, wall and dimension accuracy, and exporting the scanned room
- Object placement with ARKit: correct real world scale, floor anchoring, and stable tracking
- Object on object placement: a lamp on a table, a vase on a shelf,



with the top object staying attached to the surface underneath it
- Wall and ceiling anchoring: paintings flush to a vertical surface, fixtures anchored overhead
- Keeping placements stable when the user moves around the room, and restoring them when a project is reopened

What you need

- 2 to 5 years building iOS applications in Swift
- Hands on ARKit experience, whether from work or from your own projects
- Comfort with three dimensional concepts: transforms, coordinate spaces, raycasting, and hit testing
- Ability to consume Representational State Transfer (REST) endpoints and JavaScript Object Notation (JSON) responses
