? Mandatory In-Person Training (Bogotá) — please read carefully
This role includes a mandatory in-person training in Bogotá, Colombia , so availability to travel is required.
- Duration: 1–2 weeks
- Start date: the week of October 19
- Paid training: your $1,600 USD/month compensation starts on your first day — the training period is fully paid.
- Travel & stay fully covered by us:
- – If you live outside Bogotá: round-trip flights + hotel + per diem (viáticos)
- – If you live in Bogotá: per diem (viáticos)
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Attorney to join our team and support U.S. veterans in pursuing disability compensation benefits. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating the strength of veterans’ cases, analyzing medical evidence and service records, and developing strategic plans for appealing disability ratings before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate claims files, medical evidence, service records, and prior VA decisions.
- Assess the strength of cases and provide structured recommendations.
- Develop appeal strategies and determine the appropriate appeal route.
- Identify evidentiary gaps and recommend additional documentation or support when needed.
- Prepare clear written summaries outlining legal and procedural options.
- Collaborate with case managers and support teams to implement appeal strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation using Google Workspace and internal systems.
- Ensure work aligns with VA guidelines, regulations, and internal standards.
Requirements:
- Licensed Attorney with the educational and professional credentials required to practice law.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle multiple cases simultaneously.
- Comfortable working with Google Workspace.
- Availability to attend the mandatory in-person training in Bogotá (week of October 19).
Preferred Experience: Experience in workers’ compensation, disability compensation, insurance claims, administrative law, medical records, or administrative case files is highly valued. Familiarity with the U.S. legal system, veterans benefits, or public-benefits law is a plus, but not required.
