This role focuses on Blackboard Ally, a revolutionary product that makes digital course content more accessible. As the accessibility of digital course content is becoming increasingly important world-wide, institutions must address long-standing and often overbearing challenges. Blackboard’s Ally engineering team is responsible for developing industry-leading tools to improve accessibility through inclusivity, sustainability,
and automation for all students.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Deeply researching and understanding the problems of instructors and students, and being able to accurately and thoroughly articulate requirements which strive to solve the problems identified
- Prioritizing requirements based on quantitative & qualitative evidence to meet the needs of institutions
- Communicating product strategy, upcoming releases, and product roadmaps to clients and internal stakeholders
- Coordinating closely with other divisions of Blackboard to ensure cohesive solutions and capabilities
- Working closely with the senior product leadership team to inform the strategic direction and Blackboard Ally product roadmap
- Obtaining feedback from users, customers, sales, engineering, and other constituencies
- Maintaining awareness of trends in education and technology, as well as competitive positioning
