About Us
Parlor is a fast-growing American social membership club operating across multiple major US cities. We do not operate traditional clubhouses or venues. Instead, we create a citywide membership experience by bringing members together through a curated calendar of events, experiences, communities, and social opportunities at existing public venues throughout each city.
Our goal is to help members build meaningful social connections and discover experiences they will enjoy. We use member information, interests, preferences, and other characteristics to curate who members meet, which communities they participate in, and which events and experiences are most relevant to them.
Members might meet through a curated cocktail mixer, dinner, cultural event, wellness experience, professional gathering, interest-based community, or other social format. We continually explore new ways to match members with both people and experiences that make their membership more valuable.
Our mobile app is the central technology platform for the membership, allowing members to discover and RSVP to events, explore communities, connect with other members, access benefits, and manage their membership.
But we think of Parlor itself as the product, not simply the app. The product includes how members are curated and matched, the experiences they receive, how they are introduced to one another, onboarding and activation, communities, personalization, and the overall journey from joining Parlor to developing meaningful relationships within it.
The Role
We are seeking an ambitious, creative, and highly analytical Senior Product & Innovation Lead to continually improve and evolve the Parlor product.
Reporting directly to the founders, you will look across the entire membership journey to identify opportunities to make Parlor more engaging, personalized, intuitive, and effective at creating meaningful connections.
A major part of this role is accelerating the pace at which Parlor experiments and learns. You will identify trends and opportunities, challenge existing assumptions, develop new approaches, design and run structured tests, analyze results, and help determine which ideas should be expanded, modified, or discontinued.
Experiments may involve the app,
but they may also involve how members are curated and matched, how many events members receive, the mix and format of events, onboarding, introductions, buddy or mentorship systems, community structures, personalization, or other parts of the membership experience.
You will work closely with our Technology, Member Experience, Programming, Growth, and Performance teams to turn ideas into real-world experiments and successful experiments into scalable parts of the Parlor experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Innovation & Experimentation: Continuously identify new ways to improve the Parlor model. Maintain an active pipeline of hypotheses and experiments, rapidly test promising ideas, analyze results, and accelerate how quickly Parlor learns what drives engagement, connection, and retention.
- Trend & Opportunity Identification: Analyze member behavior, feedback, performance data, cities, communities, consumer trends, and successful practices to identify patterns and opportunities worth investigating or testing.
- Member Product Strategy: Continually evaluate the complete member journey, including onboarding, curation, matching, personalization, event discovery, communities, introductions, engagement, and retention.
- Behavioral Testing: Develop and test different approaches to member matching and curation, event frequency and mix, onboarding and activation, introductions, buddy and mentorship systems, group formation, community structures, and other aspects of the member experience.
- Mobile Product & UX: Continually improve the app experience, including discovery, navigation, RSVP flows, community features, personalization, member interaction, and overall UX.
- Engagement & Retention: Develop and test product and experience changes designed to increase activation, repeat participation, meaningful connections, member interaction, and retention.
- Personalization & AI: Identify ways AI, member data, recommendations, and automation can create a more personalized and valuable member experience.
- Analytics & Experiment Design: Use behavioral and performance data to identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, establish success measures, evaluate experiments, and guide product decisions.
- Product Development: Translate ideas requiring technology into clear requirements, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, priorities, and development plans.
- Cross-Functional Experimentation: Work with Member Experience, Programming, Programming Quality, Growth, Technology, Performance, and other teams to design and execute experiments across the Parlor experience.
- UX/UI: Work closely with design and engineering to maintain a polished, intuitive, premium mobile experience.
- Quality Assurance: Personally review important releases and experiences to identify visual, copy, usability, and functional problems before they reach members.
- Competitive Research: Continually study leading consumer products, membership models, social experiences, communities, emerging product patterns, and new technologies for ideas that could improve Parlor.
