AI Agent Developer – Household Concierge

SmarterHome.ai Engineering Team

We are looking for an AI Agent Developer to design and build a next-generation household concierge agent that helps members manage everyday home-service needs through natural conversation—from finding trusted local providers to comparing quotes and scheduling services.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop AI agent reasoning, task planning, and multi-turn conversational flows.

- Implement tool-calling/function-calling for provider search, ranking, quotes, availability, scheduling, and follow-ups.

- Build provider matching and trust systems using reviews, ratings, licensing, and insurance data.

- Integrate third-party APIs, including provider directories, booking systems, geolocation, and notifications.

- Collaborate with the Platform Developer and AI team on agent architecture, APIs, and data requirements.

- Monitor and improve agent performance through task completion, quality, hand-off, and customer satisfaction metrics.

- Implement appropriate guardrails and escalation flows for sensitive or high-risk service categories.

Requirements

- 3 years of experience building production AI/LLM applications, chatbots, or agentic systems.

- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar.

- Experience with tool-calling/function-calling and AI agent frameworks.





- Strong prompt engineering and conversational design skills.

- Experience with voice-based AI, including speech-to-text, text-to-speech, or real-time voice agents.

- Experience integrating third-party APIs and working with backend fundamentals, APIs, and data models.

- Ability to design solutions for ambiguous, real-world user requests.

- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Nice to Have

- Experience with home services, marketplaces, or on-demand platforms.

- Knowledge of trust & safety, provider verification, or reputation systems.

- Experience with Vector Search / RAG.

- Background in telecom, home services, insurtech, or comparison-shopping platforms.

- Startup or early-stage product experience.
