NeoWork is looking for an experienced Accountant to join our client’s accounting team.
The Accountant will manage full-cycle monthly bookkeeping for client accounts, including recording transactions, performing reconciliations, and reviewing balance sheets and P&L; statements to identify discrepancies.
This is a remote role that operates within a virtual desktop environment, with QuickBooks Online as the primary accounting platform. The Accountant will work closely with the accounting team under the direction of the Accounting Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly bookkeeping, from transaction recording through account reconciliations.
- Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Review balance sheets and P&L; statements to identify irregularities or inconsistencies.
- Maintain accurate financial records using QuickBooks Online.
- Follow established SOPs and adapt to new processes and workflows.
- Communicate accounting issues and discrepancies to the Accounting Manager.
- Handle financial and personally identifiable information (PII) responsibly.
- Follow basic cybersecurity and data security practices.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
- Proven experience in monthly bookkeeping and reconciliations.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and irregularities in balance sheets and P&L; statements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Typing speed of 50+ WPM with proper capitalization and punctuation.
- Comfortable working in a remote virtual desktop environment.
- Willingness to follow established SOPs and adapt to new processes.
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity and responsible handling of PII.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Experience supporting remote or U.S.-based accounting teams.
