At Lumu Technologies we are looking for a talented Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who loves to get hands-on — writing automation code, executing tests, and building the tooling that lets us ship a rock-solid platform. You'll help us build the product that enables any company to operate cyber security proficiently and take the most out of their investments in cyber defense.

What You Will Be Doing

As part of the testing team, you'll be directly responsible for the quality of every component of our platform — not just planning for it, but building it and proving it works. You'll write automation, run tests against real scenarios, and dig into failures until you know exactly what's going on. You'll work closely with UX, Product Development, and Product Management to build a strong technical and business understanding of every feature, and find the right balance between high quality and strategy trade-offs, so that quality is delivered without compromising execution speed.

Your work will include

- Writing and maintaining automated tests across every level of the stack (integration, UI, functional), using solid design patterns and clean, maintainable code.
- Executing test plans and exploratory tests, reproducing and triaging issues, and driving them to resolution with the engineering team.
- Creating test plans, scenarios, and test data covering functional, integration, regression, and scalability testing.




- Building and maintaining the CI/CD pipelines and environments that our automated tests run in.
- Preparing test summary reports and communicating findings clearly and directly.
- Collaborating with engineers throughout the development cycle to design, test, and launch new features.

Required Skills

- 3+ years of proven, hands-on experience as a QA/SDET engineer covering functional, integration, regression, and scalability testing across all phases of the testing lifecycle in an agile environment. Outstanding candidates with less experience will also be considered.
- Solid programming skills — you write code daily — preferably in Python, Java, or Ruby (at least 2 years).
- Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation (e.g., Serenity BDD) and applying patterns like Screenplay (at least 1 year).
- Experience writing automated tests for Web UI.
- Good understanding of Unit Testing concepts and practices.
- Experience configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong Git knowledge is required.
- Comfortable working with relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience testing and consuming REST APIs (intermediate-to-advanced Postman is a plus).
- Good attention to detail when reviewing processes, mockups, pre-releases, and post-release tests.

Nice to Have

- Good understanding of various DevOps tools.
- Experience with test automation for desktop applications across multiple platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux).
- Solid background in cyber security.
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools that speed up day-to-day work (code assistants, test generation, debugging tools).
