We’re searching for a Health & Safety Coordinator to be responsible for continuously improving Health & Safety policies, focusing on the prevention of occupational injuries and illnesses, as well as planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs/methods in regards to employee health plans.
As Health & Safety Coordinator, You Will
- Represent 24-7 Intouch as the prime internal and external contact for any issues or emergencies related to Health & Safety
- Conduct briefings and technical meetings for employees regarding Health & Safety issues
- Ensure policies meet compliance and legal requirements
- Develop and manage comprehensive employee Health & Safety program development (including ergonomic injury reduction, industrial safety management, waste management, air emissions and wastewater discharge)
- Establish systems for monitoring workplace safety risks and environmental impacts by analyzing work processes, materials, equipment and the work habits of employees
- Identify areas (potential or existing) of non-compliance through audits and inspections
- Develop and implement training programs for employees in areas such as hazardous material safety, handling emergency response and waste management
- Be responsible for emergency response, spill response and disaster preparedness plans, materials and equipment
- Oversee the Emergency Response Team to ensure appropriate training drills and equipment are prepared
- Monitor employee exposure to chemicals, toxic substances and ph
