About The Role

In this role, you will own the full-stack development of an AI-powered student tutor and learning coach integrated with Canvas for medical education. You will deliver scalable backend services and responsive in-Canvas experiences while collaborating with AI/ML engineering, QA, product, and client stakeholders to enable successful university pilots.

In this role, you will own the full-stack development of an AI-powered student tutor and learning coach integrated with Canvas for medical education. You will deliver scalable backend services and responsive in-Canvas experiences while collaborating with AI/ML engineering, QA, product, and client stakeholders to enable successful university pilots.

Responsibilities
- Design and maintain Python backend services that enable reliable tutor orchestration, content-generation workflows, Canvas/LTI integration, and data ingestion.
- Build responsive Next.js and React experiences with product, AI/ML, and QA teams to improve student access across mobile, tablet, and desktop.




- Deliver end-to-end features with client stakeholders to accelerate pilot outcomes through aligned API contracts, state management, streaming behavior, and configuration.
- Ensure application performance, accessibility compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA, and security across backend and frontend components.
- Communicate technical progress, trade-offs, and defect resolution directly with the client during working sessions, sprint reviews, and UAT.
- Triage and resolve client-reported defects quickly to reduce disruption during active pilot and Hypercare periods.
- Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, reviews, retrospectives, and code reviews to maintain delivery quality and alignment.

Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Python backend and API development using FastAPI or a comparable framework.
- Advanced experience with Next.js and React for modern frontend application development.
