Data Engineer Sr

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly technical, versatile Technical Support & Data Integration Engineer to help support our growing data and analytics platform and customer base. This is not a traditional help desk role — we need someone with strong technical aptitude who can investigate complex issues, work across multiple technologies, and quickly learn new platforms and concepts. The role covers customer onboarding, data integration, Fivetran configuration, cloud connectivity, and day-to-day troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

- Establish and operate a structured technical support desk for customers and internal teams, owning and triaging incoming issues.
- Investigate problems across data pipelines, databases, cloud infrastructure, networking, and applications.
- Coordinate escalation to engineering or other technical teams when necessary.
- Develop support documentation, troubleshooting procedures, runbooks, and knowledge-base content.
- Assist with onboarding new customers onto the data platform, configuring and supporting Fivetran Cloud connectors and pipelines.
- Troubleshoot source connectivity, synchronization, CDC, schema, and data ingestion issues, working with engineering to validate pipeline operation.
- Provide operational support for environments running in AWS and Microsoft Azure (VPCs/VNets, security groups, VPN, DNS, RDS, Azure SQL, virtual machines, firewalls, and monitoring).
- Use scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell,



Bash, SQL, REST APIs) to solve problems, automate repetitive tasks, and build diagnostic utilities.
- Identify recurring support issues and help automate or eliminate them where possible.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding technical issues, status, resolution, and next steps.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
- Cloud Data Platform Support: 5+ years of experience supporting cloud-based data platforms, with hands-on troubleshooting across data pipelines, connectivity, synchronization, and integration issues.
- Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to investigate unfamiliar problems and quickly learn new technologies.
- Comfortable moving between databases, cloud infrastructure, networking, APIs, scripts, and applications.
- Experience with scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, Bash, SQL) is highly valued.
- Hands-on Fivetran experience preferred; related data integration experience will also be considered.
- Familiarity with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
- Experience with tools such as Snowflake, Azure Data Factory, Qlik, Docker, Git, or CI/CD is a plus.
- Knows when to research independently and when to escalate to engineering.
- Strong communication skills with both technical teams and customers.
- Interest in growing into data engineering, automation, or AI-assisted tooling over time.
