POSITION SUMMARY

We want a versatile technology professional, not a single-tool specialist: someone fluent in our Business Intelligence (BI) and automation platforms who starts from the business problem and gets real satisfaction from making other people's work easier.

The role starts with the technology. You will inherit a portfolio people already rely on: Power BI reports and data models, Azure automations and integrations, and the pipelines behind them. Keep them running, make them better, and learn the business through them. Everything we do is cloud-based and our IT department is very small, so there are no specialists to hand things to; you will need to be, or quickly become, knowledgeable across virtually everything we run.

As you learn the business, the role grows toward process: working with sales, operations, logistics, purchasing and finance to find where work is slow, manual or error-prone, and building or bringing in the right solution. Someone who does this well can grow this engagement into leading business systems and technology work for Solé Farms.

Solé Farms is a rapidly growing, Miami-based importer, wholesaler and distributor of fresh cut flowers serving the United States and Canada, working directly with leading farms in Colombia, Ecuador and other growing regions. We are a technology-driven company: when perishable products cross borders every day, small process improvements add up quickly.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

From day one:





- Keep the data foundation reliable: pipelines, integrations, SQL, our Azure data environment and Snowflake warehouse.
- Own the existing portfolio: keep it running, document it, train its users, track the impact.
- Automate repetitive work with workflows, notifications and integrations between Komet, Sage Intacct, Snowflake and Azure.
- Give sales, operations and leadership the reports and analysis they rely on, and resolve discrepancies so people trust the numbers.

As you learn the business:

- Sit with the people doing the work to map how a process really runs, quantify what manual effort costs, then define, implement and measure the improvement.
- Evaluate options honestly (a feature we already own, an off-the-shelf tool, a low-code or AI-assisted solution, or custom development) and recommend the best fit. When our current tools are not the right answer, say so.

WHAT WE NEED

- Hands-on proficiency in our core stack: SQL and T-SQL; Power BI with DAX and data modeling; Azure Logic Apps and Functions; Azure Data Factory and/or Synapse Analytics; Python; REST APIs; Git and Azure DevOps. Proficient, not certified expert.
- Working knowledge across the technologies a cloud-based company runs on: Microsoft 365, cloud services, SaaS business applications, databases, integrations, automation and reporting.




- Experience analyzing business processes and designing solutions; build-versus-buy judgment; a working understanding of order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, inventory and logistics.
- Professional spoken and written English. This posting is a fair sample of what the role requires.
- A bachelor's degree in a related field and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
- Nice to have: Snowflake; mid-market accounting systems; Komet or another industry order-management platform; distribution or perishables experience; remote contractor work with US-based teams; practical use of AI-assisted tools.

HOW WE WORK

Part of the team, not an isolated ticket-taker. You will have a seat in our operations and sales meetings and make occasional trips to Miami, with travel costs covered by Solé Farms. You will be judged on whether people's work got better, not on tool mastery.

Remote, with real flexibility. We do not prescribe working hours; we ask that you be available to the team in Miami during agreed-upon periods and for all scheduled meetings, set on Miami (US Eastern) time.

Contract basics. Independent contractor engagement, initial term 12 months, renewable. Fees invoiced twice a month. The fee is the full amount we pay you; out of it you make your own monthly contributions for health (EPS), pension (AFP) and occupational risk insurance (ARL), as Colombian law requires. Monthly fee: from COP 12 million, depending on experience, plus a quarterly bonus based on performance.
