Referment is working with a integral financial services business seeking a Software .NET Developer to build enterprise applications supporting client onboarding and shared workflows across the organisation.
You will join an engineering team responsible for low-latency, business-critical systems and contribute across the full application stack. The remit covers the complete development lifecycle, from architecture and proof of concept through implementation, testing and release. It offers a strong fit for an experienced .NET engineer who enjoys combining backend depth with modern web development and contributing technical direction to a wider team.
The Role
- Design and develop scalable enterprise applications across frontend, backend and data layers.
- Contribute throughout an Agile development lifecycle, from concept and architecture through testing and production release.
- Build proofs of concept to evaluate new technologies and architectural ideas.
- Review pull requests and help strengthen engineering standards and delivery practices.
- Mentor other engineers and provide practical technical guidance.
- Investigate alternative approaches and present recommendations for architectural review.
What We're Looking For
- At least five years' experience building enterprise-grade systems.
- Strong hands-on development experience with C#, .NET Core and .NET 8 or later.
- Experience creating large, scalable web applications using React ideally, or Angular, with TypeScript.
- Practical knowledge of event-driven microservices and distributed systems.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes and a cloud platform such as Azure or AWS.
- Exposure to Apache Kafka or a comparable distributed messaging or streaming platform.
- Sound testing practice, including TDD or BDD and relevant testing frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
A computer science, engineering or related degree is required. Financial-markets knowledge is useful, although a strong desire to learn the domain can also work.
This could suit a senior full-stack or backend-focused .NET engineer who wants to work on complex onboarding workflows while remaining hands-on across architecture, delivery and mentoring.
