The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Roads and Streets Design Coordinator to join Arup’s Civil team in Bogotá.
This role will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and management of multidisciplinary engineering design activities across major transportation and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, project managers, design teams, contractors, authorities and other stakeholders to ensure effective integration of technical disciplines and successful delivery of complex projects.
The role requires a combination of technical understanding, design management capability, stakeholder engagement and project delivery experience, with a particular focus on roads, highways, and transportation infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Act as Design Coordinator on a diverse range of transportation and infrastructure projects, ensuring effective coordination between technical disciplines, project stakeholders and delivery teams.
- Develop and implement design management strategies, design delivery plans, and coordination processes.
- Manage design programmes, deliverables, interfaces, dependencies and design risks throughout project delivery.
- Facilitate coordination between geometry, pavements, geotechnics, drainage, structures, tunnels, utilities, BIM, environmental and other specialist disciplines related to transport infrastructure projects.
- Lead technical workshops, design review meetings, and stakeholder coordination sessions.
- Support project managers in the management of scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resource planning.
- Coordinate the resolution of design issues, technical interfaces, and multidisciplinary project challenges.
- Foster collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence within multidisciplinary teams.

Is this role right for you?
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transport Engineering, Highway Engineering or a closely related discipline. A relevant postgraduate qualification is desirable.
- Professional experience in the design, design management, coordination or delivery of major road, highway, urban mobility or transportation infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary design teams on large and complex infrastructure projects.
- Experience coordinating multiple technical disciplines and stakeholders throughout project development and delivery.
- Experience working with public agencies, concessionaires, contractors, or consulting firms.
- Strong understanding of engineering project delivery processes, design management methodologies, and risk management principles.
- Knowledge of design programmes, change management, quality systems, and multidisciplinary coordination processes.
- Experience supporting infrastructure procurement and construction delivery activities is desirable.
- Experience with BIM-enabled project delivery and collaborative digital environments is desirable.
- Experience with detailed design and Issue for Construction documentation in contractor, concessionaire, owner, design consultant or client-side delivery environments is desirable.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional working proficiency in Spanish.
- Professional working proficiency in English is desirable.
- Eligibility to practice engineering in Colombia, including the applicable professional registration, where required.

Bogotá, Colombia Hiring Range – The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Bogotá is COP $163,357,500 to COP $186,000,000 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Bogotá will differ.
