Freight Forwarding / Logistics Specialist – 100% Remote

We are looking for an experienced Freight Forwarding / Logistics Specialist to manage shipment quoting, booking, coordination, documentation, tracking, and customer communication for domestic and international freight. This role requires hands-on freight forwarding experience and strong knowledge of air, ocean, and trucking operations.

About the Role

You’ll be responsible for building accurate and competitive freight quotes, obtaining rates from vendors, selecting appropriate airlines and carriers, and coordinating shipments from origin through final delivery. You’ll work closely with customers, overseas agents, customs brokers, carriers, shippers, and consignees while maintaining accurate shipment records and documentation. This is a hands-on role requiring strong numerical skills, quick decision-making, attention to detail, and ownership of shipments from beginning to end.

Responsibilities

- Prepare quotes for domestic and international shipments across air, ocean, and trucking freight.
- Obtain and compare rates from preferred vendors, airlines, carriers, and transportation providers.
- Identify appropriate airlines and carriers based on shipment requirements and destination.
- Calculate freight costs accurately and make quick decisions when preparing quotes.
- Follow up on pending quotes and customer requests.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups and deliveries.
- Request, confirm, and manage shipment bookings.
- Coordinate with overseas agents, customs brokers, airlines, carriers, shippers, and consignees.
- Track shipments from origin through final delivery and proactively address delays or issues.
- Enter, maintain,



and update shipment information in BTXSHIP.
- Prepare and manage Bills of Lading (BOLs), Air Waybills (AWBs), AES filings, pre-alerts, delivery orders, invoices, and shipment files.
- Support customs coordination and ensure required shipment information and documentation are complete.
- Maintain accurate and organized shipment records.
- Provide customers and the operations team with timely shipment status updates.
- Handle billing and invoice-related shipment documentation.
- Support general freight forwarding, logistics, and customer service operations.
- Proactively follow up on outstanding bookings, documents, quotes, and deliveries.

What We're Looking For

- Previous hands-on freight forwarding experience is required.
- Strong experience quoting domestic and international export shipments.
- Experience with air, ocean, and trucking freight.
- Strong understanding of freight rates, routing, carriers, and shipment costs.
- Ability to identify appropriate airlines and carriers for different destinations.
- Experience obtaining and comparing vendor and carrier rates.
- Experience booking and tracking shipments from beginning to end.
- Knowledge of BOLs, AWBs, AES filings, pre-alerts, delivery orders, invoices, and freight documentation.
- Experience coordinating with customs brokers, overseas agents, carriers, shippers, and consignees.
- Experience with BTXSHIP is highly preferred.




- Strong numerical skills and ability to calculate costs accurately.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions when preparing quotes.
- Strong customer communication and follow-up skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organization.
- Strong ownership, time management, and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Proactive and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Do NOT Apply If

- You do not have previous freight forwarding experience.
- Your logistics experience does not include quoting domestic and international shipments.
- You have no experience with air, ocean, or trucking freight.
- You are unfamiliar with freight documentation such as BOLs and AWBs.
- You are uncomfortable calculating and comparing carrier and vendor rates.
- You have no experience coordinating bookings, pickups, deliveries, and shipment tracking.
- You struggle to make accurate decisions in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- You require constant supervision to manage shipments, deadlines, and customer follow-ups.
