Role Description The Spanish Medical Interpreter is a full-time remote role responsible for providing accurate and confidential interpretation between Spanish-speaking patients and healthcare professionals in a variety of medical settings. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating live audio or video medical encounters, ensuring accurate conveyance of medical terminology, diagnoses, treatment plans, and consent information,



and maintaining neutrality and professionalism at all times. The interpreter will adhere to healthcare privacy regulations, follow company protocols and standards of practice, and document sessions when required.

Free training is provided to help interpreters understand medical terminology, interpretation protocols, and the company’s proprietary systems, and team members are expected to participate in ongoing learning to maintain quality and consistency.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong skills in Medical Interpretation and Interpreting, with the ability to facilitate clear, accurate, and neutral communication in real-time.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology and Simultaneous Interpretation techniques to support complex medical conversations and urgent scenarios.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Translation for written materials when needed, including forms, discharge instructions, and patient education resources.
- Fluency in Spanish and English, with excellent listening, speaking, and comprehension skills.
- High ethical standards, respect for confidentiality, and familiarity with HIPAA or other patient privacy regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to remain calm and professional in stressful or emotional situations.
- Comfort with remote work, reliable internet connection, and ability to learn and use proprietary cloud-based platforms and communication tools.
- Previous experience in medical or community interpreting is preferred; completion of interpreter training or relevant certification is an advantage (training provided for qualified candidates).
