Senior Medical Repatriation & Flight Operations Coordinator

Team360 Staffing is hiring an experienced Senior Medical Repatriation & Flight Operations Coordinator to join a growing international travel company.

Compensation: USD $1,200–$1,500/month, depending on experience

Experience: 3+ years of relevant medical repatriation, medical assistance, medical escort coordination, air ambulance operations, or international patient transport experience

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced medical repatriation professional who can independently coordinate complex international patient transfers and medical escort missions from initial request through successful completion.

This role involves coordinating patient flights, medical escorts, airline medical clearance, ground transportation, hotels, airport assistance, and other mission-critical logistics.

The adecuado candidate already understands commercial airline medical transportation, international patient travel, medical clearance procedures, and complex repatriation operations.

Key Responsibilities

? Coordinate international and domestic medical repatriations and patient transfers from intake through completion

? Review new missions and determine operational requirements for patients and medical escorts

? Coordinate patient flights, medical escort positioning and return flights, ground transportation, hotels, and airport assistance

? Identify appropriate flight options based on patient needs, travel time, connections, cabin requirements, airport accessibility, and airline policies

? Coordinate airline medical clearance , including MEDIF/MEDA documentation and follow-up with airline medical departments

? Arrange SSRs and special services, including wheelchair assistance, oxygen, stretcher arrangements, special seating,



and medical equipment

? Understand the operational implications of patient conditions and identify when clinical questions need to be escalated

? Coordinate with insurers, assistance companies, hospitals, medical escorts, airlines, ground providers, and internal teams

? Monitor active missions and manage changes, cancellations, delays, missed connections, and other disruptions

? Maintain accurate mission notes, approvals, documentation, deadlines, and status updates

? Anticipate operational risks and develop backup solutions

? Manage multiple active missions while maintaining accuracy and urgency

Required Experience

✅ 3+ years of direct experience in medical repatriation, medical assistance, medical escort coordination, air ambulance coordination, or international patient transport

✅ Strong understanding of commercial airline medical escort operations

✅ Experience coordinating complex international patient transfers

✅ Experience with airline medical clearance and MEDIF/MEDA procedures

✅ Knowledge of airline SSRs, wheelchair services, oxygen, stretcher procedures, and other medical-travel requirements

✅ Experience coordinating medical escort positioning, patient travel, and escort return travel

✅ Strong understanding of international air travel, connections, airports, and operational logistics





✅ Ability to understand medical terminology and transportation implications of different patient conditions

✅ Experience communicating with hospitals, medical professionals, assistance organizations, insurers, and airlines

✅ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively under pressure

✅ Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple time-sensitive missions simultaneously

Preferred Experience

⭐ Experience with Sabre, Travelport, or Amadeus

⭐ Experience working with U.S.-based medical assistance or repatriation organizations

⭐ Experience coordinating international medical escorts

⭐ Experience with commercial airline medical clearance

⭐ Experience handling complex international patient transfers

⭐ Air ambulance or medical transport coordination experience

⭐ Experience working with international insurers, assistance companies, hospitals, and airlines

⭐ Experience developing or improving medical transportation procedures

What Success Looks Like The person in this role should be able to independently receive a new medical repatriation request and determine:

- What information is missing
- What questions need to be asked
- Whether the proposed journey is operationally practical
- What medical clearance and airline approvals are required
- What special services the patient will need
- How the medical escort should be positioned and returned
- Whether ground transportation or hotel accommodations are required
- What risks could disrupt the transfer
- Which issues require clinical escalation
- What needs to happen next to move the mission forward

This is a senior operational position for someone who can take ownership of complex medical transportation missions with minimal training.
