We are looking for a strong Senior Data Scientist / Data Science Expert who will become a key Data Science expert in working with our international markets.

This is not a position where you simply need to receive tasks and implement them according to a ready-made plan.

We need an autonomous person with strong experience in credit scoring and lending, who understands international markets well, independently determines approaches to solving tasks, and can fully lead the direction from a business request to an implemented solution.

What will be in your area of responsibility:

- Independently lead the Data Science direction in international markets and be responsible for the result;
- Develop, implement, and improve ML models for credit scoring, loan repayment prediction, and credit risk assessment;
- Analyze portfolios, customer behavior, and lending quality and find opportunities to improve business results;
- Adapt scoring approaches to the specifics of different countries and markets;
- Independently formulate hypotheses, determine the necessary data, methodology,



and approaches to solving tasks;
- Work directly with Business, Risk, Product, and other teams — from problem formulation to solution implementation;
- Make technical decisions regarding the development and building of models;
- Be responsible for model quality, their validation, monitoring, and further improvement;
- Together with the team, develop and implement production solutions and data services;
- Conduct code reviews and help improve the technical level of other Data Scientists;
- Be an expert and a point of support for the team in complex DS/ML tasks;
- If necessary, participate in interviews and assessment of the professional level of candidates and team members.

What is critically important for us:

- 5+ years of commercial experience in Data Science;
- Deep practical experience in credit scoring / credit risk / lending / fintech;
- Experience in building and implementing ML models in production;
- Confident knowledge of Python and strong production code writing skills;
- Experience working with international markets and understanding that the same model does not always work equally well in different countries;
- Understanding of the specifics of the credit business and factors that influence risk and loan repayment.
- Ability to independently go through the entire path:



business problem → hypothesis → data → model → production → result evaluation → optimization;
- Experience working in conditions of high autonomy and the ability to independently determine priorities;
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to solve non-trivial tasks;
- Willingness to be not just an executor, but an expert who influences decisions and business results.

Will be a great plus:

- Experience working with several international geographies;
- Understanding of lending specifics in emerging markets;
- Experience working with alternative data sources in credit scoring;
- Experience in consumer lending / short-term lending / BNPL / digital lending;
- Experience in technical mentoring of a Data Science team.

This is a role for a strong individual contributor who already works at an expert level and is ready to essentially perform the function of a Data Science Lead in their area.

How does the introduction process work?

Stage 1 — online meeting with a recruiter (30 min);

Stage 2 — introduction with a technical expert (60 min);

Stage 3 — introduction with the future manager (60 min).
