Role Description The Secondary Innovation Lab Technician at Colegio Karl C. Parrish is a full-time, on-site role based in Barranquilla. The technician supports daily operations of the secondary school innovation lab, ensuring that laboratory equipment and learning spaces are prepared, safe, and functional for students and educators.

Responsibilities include setting up experiments and projects, maintaining and calibrating equipment, organizing materials and supplies, and assisting teachers during lab sessions and technology-focused activities. The role also involves monitoring proper use of tools and resources, enforcing safety protocols, documenting lab activities, and supporting students in the correct handling of equipment. The technician collaborates with faculty to implement innovative learning experiences, supports basic troubleshooting of devices and platforms used in the lab, and contributes to continuous improvement of lab practices and procedures.

Qualifications

- Demonstrated experience working with laboratory equipment and tools, with the ability to maintain, organize, and troubleshoot Laboratory Equipment effectively.
- Strong Laboratory Skills and practical knowledge of standard laboratory procedures, safety practices,



and materials handling appropriate for a school setting.
- Background as Laboratory Technicians or in a similar technical support role, preferably in an educational or innovation-focused environment.
- Solid Analytical Skills to interpret instructions, follow protocols, check results for accuracy, and identify potential issues in lab setups or experiments.
- Experience applying Quality Control principles to ensure equipment is functioning properly, supplies are adequate, and lab activities comply with safety and institutional standards.
- Secondary education diploma required; technical or vocational training in science, technology, engineering, or related fields is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and staff, with clear communication and service-oriented support.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple lab sessions, inventories, and maintenance schedules, with attention to detail and reliability.
- Basic proficiency with computers and educational technology commonly used in school innovation labs.
