Qualifications
- 1-3 years of experience as a Tier 1-2 Support Engineer, IT Systems Administrator, NOC Engineer, or Network Operations Engineer within web, network, information security, or cybersecurity environments
- Hands-on experience working with a cloud or SaaS technology provider
- Strong computer skills, with an emphasis on networking, TCP/IP, firewalls, and proxy servers
- Working knowledge of ISP services, DNS, DHCP, NAT, HTTP, and HTTPS
- Familiarity with network and security protocols and standards
- Proficiency in reading application system logs and identifying the root causes of issues
- Advanced troubleshooting skills and a passion for resolving complex technical problems in live production environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Adaptability in rapidly changing environments while managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Capacity to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Effectiveness in collaborating with globally dispersed, cross-cultural teams
- Willingness to provide 24/7 rotating shift coverage and on-call support as required
Responsibilities
- Work within a shift-based team supporting 24/7/365 operations.
- Maintain production system uptime and functionality by troubleshooting and resolving system and network issues.
- Collaborate with relevant teams and stakeholders to identify and resolve issues.
- Investigate service issues, conduct follow-ups, and communicate status updates to customers.
- Monitor system status and identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
- Mitigate outages and system malfunctions to minimize customer impact.
- Prepare and submit escalations to the Engineering team based on priority and urgency.
- Coordinate with third-party service providers to resolve network and system issues.
- Provide higher-tier support for customer issues related to last-mile connectivity.
- Strengthen, improve, and expand the NOC team's capabilities.
- Train and support team members in addressing knowledge gaps.
- Participate in ongoing projects and customer onboarding activities.
- Attend customer welcome calls to introduce the service and assist with onboarding.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the Support and Field Engineering teams by understanding customer business use cases.
- Promote continuous service improvement by reviewing, challenging, updating, and creating processes and procedures that support operational excellence.
