We're based in Switzerland. We build irrigation, water treatment, post-harvest and disinfection systems for horticulture and indoor farming, along with the IoT hardware that monitors them. Our customers are commercial flower and produce growers, mostly in Latin America.

We need someone to draw all of it properly.

This is a freelance engagement for a junior engineering designer, based in Colombia. You'd model our equipment in mechanical CAD, lay out our installations in Revit, and produce the drawings that fabricators build from and installers work to. You'd work from written briefs, schematics and component datasheets, with an engineer here reviewing what you produce.

THE WORK

Two quite different subjects, and you'd move between them.

The skids. Irrigation and water treatment units built on a frame: pumps, filter banks, dosing, tanks, valves and the pipework between them, mostly in stainless steel and plastic. You'd model the assembly from a schematic and the bought-in components' datasheets, then produce the drawing package a workshop needs: general arrangement, frame fabrication, pipe spools, a bill of materials that matches what's drawn.

When the workshop calls with a question, the drawing was the problem. We'd like them not to call.

The installations. Greenhouses and packhouses where those skids end up. Pump rooms, water treatment areas, main and distribution lines, tank farms, the route from the well to the last dripper. This is Revit work: laying out systems in a facility model, building the families we don't have, keeping the model coordinated with what's actually being built, and getting sheets out of it that an installer on site can follow.

Around both: revisions, as-builts, and keeping the drawing register straight. Unglamorous and essential.

You'd start on component modelling and single drawing sheets. Whole skid packages and full facility layouts come later, once the work suits both sides.





WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Drawing judgement, above everything else. A drawing that a fabricator can build from without a phone call. The right views, the dimensions someone actually needs, tolerances where they matter and nowhere else, a title block and revision history that make sense to someone who wasn't there. We'd rather hire someone with two excellent drawings and one CAD package than someone who lists five packages and has never had a part made from their work.

In practice that means

- Drawing samples with real fabrication or installation work in them. A frame, a pipe spool, a plant room layout. One drawing that something was built from beats a folder of exercises.
- Parametric mechanical CAD: assemblies, sheet metal or weldments, and drawings with a BoM driven from the model. SolidWorks, Inventor or Fusion 360 all transfer. Which package matters less than you'd think.
- Working Revit. Not just placing families, but understanding that the model is a database: systems, levels, views, schedules and sheets. MEP or plant work is idóneo. Architectural Revit is a reasonable start if you understand what's different about piping.
- Enough process literacy to read a P&ID; and know what a pump, a disc filter, a solenoid valve and a check valve are for, and roughly in what order they go.
- Evidence you've finished something for someone else and hit a date.

Deep hydraulics aren't a requirement. We size the pumps and pipes; you draw what we've sized, and over time you'll start catching our mistakes. What we do want is honesty about where you are. If you've done Revit and never touched a fabrication drawing, or the reverse,



say so. We'll supervise the half you haven't done.

WHAT WE DON'T NEED

Renders and visualisation (we have a 3D designer for that). Structural calculations. Architectural design. Certifications, course completions and lists of software. None of it counts against you, but none of it tells us anything either.

TERMS

Up to 1,000 USD per month depending on experience, on a freelance contract you invoice monthly. We expect this to be close to full-time and to be your main engagement rather than occasional overflow work.

You need to be based in Colombia, working remotely, with professional written English. Briefs, schematics and review comments all arrive in writing, and most of the datasheets you'll read are in English or German. You don't need to sound native, but you do need to read a spec closely and come back with precise questions.

We work on Central European Time. Your mornings are our afternoons, so roughly 8:00 to 12:00 Colombia time is when we can talk. Outside that, async is fine.

HOW IT WORKS A drawing walkthrough first: 45 minutes, screen share, you drive. Bring your own drawings and models and talk us through the decisions. Then a short skills test, unpaid and scoped to half a day: a small pump-and-filter subassembly on a frame from a schematic and datasheets we supply, delivered as a model and one general arrangement sheet. It's real work on real parts, every candidate gets written feedback, and the decision mostly rests on it.
