About The Role

The Business Data Analyst (Global Level 2) supports the development and maintenance of ONErpm’s integral business intelligence and reporting capabilities. The role transforms complex data into clear, actionable insights by building and maintaining Power BI dashboards, data models, and reporting tools that track key business, artist, streaming, and marketing performance metrics. Working across global teams, the analyst partners with business stakeholders and data teams to ensure reporting is accurate, consistent, secure, and aligned with business needs, while continuously improving and streamlining the organization’s analytics environment.

The role reports to the SVP of Business Intelligence, Data and Product

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain Power BI reports tracking music analytic KPIs (streaming performance, campaign activity, and artist/account metrics, etc) across global offices

Develop and maintain semantic models, including data source connections, storage mode configuration (Import/Dual), and relationship management

Write and troubleshoot DAX measures for dynamic reporting needs (Top N rankings, field-parameter-driven metric selectors, time-intelligence calculations like CM/LM, CY/LY comparisons)

Investigate and resolve data quality issues and discrepancies between reports,



tracing root causes back to source tables and upstream data pipelines

Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) across reports, including security table design and region/office-based access mapping

Collaborate with data engineering/dbt teams to flag and resolve upstream data modeling issues affecting report accuracy

Gather requirements from stakeholders (marketing, A&R;, executive teams) and translate them into PRDs and report specifications

Consolidate and rationalize overlapping reports into unified dashboards to reduce redundancy and maintenance overhead

Maintain naming conventions, measure libraries, and documentation standards for consistency across the reporting portfolio

Required Skills / Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent practical experience with BI tools and data modeling

Strong proficiency in Power BI (Desktop and Service), including DAX and Power Query

Experience with semantic modeling: relationships, storage modes, calculated tables/columns, field parameters

Familiarity with Row-Level Security implementation in Power BI

Working knowledge of SQL and comfort reading dbt-modeled source tables

Experience with GitHub for version control of report/database source files

Experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to assist in building and maintaining Power BI reports

Experience troubleshooting data discrepancies across interconnected reports/data models

Experience in Excel/Google Sheets preferred.

Experience in Salesforce preferred, but not required.

Strong stakeholder communication skills; ability to write PRDs and manage requirements from non-technical teams

Self-starter who thrives with minimal process and can build cross-team relationships to fill in gaps in requirements

Experience in music/entertainment, streaming, or marketing analytics a plus

Nice to Have

Experience with MCP-based or API-driven workflows for Power BI Desktop

Familiarity with DBT and modern data pipeline concepts
