The Filling & Packing Service Engineer – Automation is responsible for providing expert automation and controls support during service interventions, maintenance activities, troubleshooting, and startup/commissioning of filling and packaging equipment.
This role ensures reliable machine performance, supports customers on-site and remotely, and collaborates with mechanical and process teams to guarantee successful service execution according to GEA's quality and safety standards.
The position requires strong knowledge of industrial automation systems (PLC, HMI, servo drives, sensors, industrial networks), hands on problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in dynamic production environments across different customer sites.Responsibilities / TasksKnow manufacturing processes in the Nutrition Plant Engineering industryGenerate pre-engineering of projects: Process dimensioning, Production time schedules, Block diagrams, P&IDs;, Cleaning In Place distributionLayout (Matching process requirements: Drains, pipe mass, operation and safety requirements...)Calculation of product lossesDimensioning, equipment list generation and ordering of thermal and mechanical equipment (pumps, pipes, steam, valves, heat exchangers...) for the NPE industryCoordinate with different areas (sales, procurement, external GEA offices and technological centers of competence, logistics, electrical and automation engineering, process engineering, project management)
