Upstart AEC is seeking a Senior Architect with advanced Archicad expertise and strong construction documentation experience to support a highly complex, active architectural project in Miami.
You will join an existing architecture team to help complete a construction drawing package that is already approximately 80–90% developed. This is a fast-moving assignment where the successful candidate must be able to enter an established Archicad model, understand complex building conditions, and contribute productively with minimal ramp-up.
The project is a nearly 300,000-square-foot mixed-use development incorporating restaurant, retail, Class A office, and high-end residential spaces. Its architecture includes stone cladding, significant wind-load considerations, and highly customized conditions across floors and structural elements.
This role is best suited for an experienced architect who combines strong technical building knowledge with expert Archicad/BIM capabilities and is comfortable solving complex construction-documentation problems independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within an existing Archicad BIM model to help complete construction documentation.
- Develop and refine detailed construction drawings for a complex mixed-use building.
- Review existing documentation and quickly identify areas requiring further development or resolution.
- Resolve unique architectural and construction conditions across different floors and building elements.
- Coordinate work within an established project team and contribute to a shared BIM environment.
- Apply practical knowledge of how building systems, assemblies, materials, and details come together in construction.
- Maintain a high standard of documentation while working against an accelerated project schedule.
- Communicate clearly in English with architects and other internal team members regarding design and technical issues.
- Work independently on assigned portions of the project with minimal supervision or training.
Required Skills
- Expert-level Archicad experience , including strong knowledge of BIM workflows and how to structure and maintain an effective Archicad model.
- Significant professional experience producing construction documents / construction drawings .
- Experience working on complex architectural projects , rather than primarily repetitive or standardized buildings.
- Strong understanding of building construction, detailing, assemblies, and constructability .
- Ability to interpret existing design intent and independently develop technical solutions.
- Experience producing comprehensive drawing sets, rather than working exclusively on isolated drawing packages or individual details.
- Strong architectural design judgment combined with technical documentation skills.
- Ability to join an active project and contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up or training .
- Strong working English, particularly the ability to discuss architectural design and technical issues clearly with an international team.
- Senior-level architectural experience appropriate for independently resolving complex documentation challenges.
