Our client is a technology-driven organization supporting business operations across retail, marketing, fulfillment, and supply chain. Its enterprise technology environment requires highly reliable, scalable, and secure database infrastructure.

Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior SQL Server Database Administrator with deep hands-on expertise in enterprise-scale Microsoft SQL Server administration, database internals, and advanced performance optimization.

This role requires more than traditional database administration. The adecuado candidate has extensive experience troubleshooting complex SQL Server performance issues, managing very large databases (VLDBs), designing high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, and optimizing mission-critical production environments.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer, optimize, and maintain large-scale enterprise SQL Server environments, including multi-terabyte databases.
- Perform advanced performance tuning through execution plan analysis, wait statistics, query optimization, index and statistics management, and SQL Server internals troubleshooting.
- Design and manage high-availability and disaster recovery solutions using Always On Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, WSFC, and backup/recovery strategies.
- Optimize storage engine performance,



TempDB configuration, I/O, memory, parallelism, and resource utilization.
- Manage enterprise SQL Server features, including partitioning, compression, Query Store, Resource Governor, and online index operations.
- Develop automation and monitoring solutions using PowerShell, dbatools, SQL Server DMVs, and enterprise monitoring tools.
- Support database security, encryption, auditing, patching, and compliance requirements.
- Support cloud and hybrid database environments, including Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.

Required Qualifications

- Extensive hands-on experience as a Senior or Enterprise SQL Server DBA in complex production environments.
- Deep knowledge of SQL Server architecture, storage engine internals, query processing, and advanced performance troubleshooting.
- Demonstrated experience managing very large databases, ideally in the 10–40 TB+ range.
- Strong expertise in execution plans, wait statistics, parameter sniffing, TempDB contention, indexing, and query optimization.
- Extensive experience with Always On Availability Groups, WSFC, high availability, disaster recovery, and RTO/RPO planning.
- Strong knowledge of SQL Server Enterprise Edition features and large-scale database maintenance.
- Experience with PowerShell and database administration automation.
- Experience with Azure SQL, SQL Server on Azure VMs, or hybrid SQL Server environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and technical communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience managing dozens or hundreds of SQL Server instances.
- Experience with Distributed Availability Groups and cross-region disaster recovery.
- Microsoft SQL Server or Azure database certifications.
- Experience with enterprise monitoring tools such as Redgate, SolarWinds, or SentryOne.
