We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Carrier Operations Specialist with 1–2 years of experience in Carrier Sales, Logistics Operations, or a related transportation role.
This position is responsible for managing the load lifecycle, identifying and contacting carriers, negotiating competitive rates, booking loads, and coordinating shipment tracking to ensure freight is picked up and delivered on time.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the load board and prioritize available loads that need to be moved the same day.
• Identify lanes and proactively search for qualified carriers interested in transporting available freight.
• Contact carriers by phone and email to discuss load opportunities and negotiate rates.
• Make carrier offers based on established price targets while supporting company profitability.
• Negotiate competitive rates and secure carrier capacity for assigned loads.
• Assign booked loads in the TMS and send Rate Confirmations to carriers.
• Request and verify driver information and enter accurate details into the system.
• Send tracking links and ensure shipment tracking is properly activated.
• Request shipment updates from carriers and drivers to confirm on-time pickup and delivery.
• Monitor shipment progress and proactively identify potential delays or operational issues.
• Communicate with carriers regarding pickup, delivery, and shipment requirements.
• Maintain accurate load, carrier, and driver information in internal systems.
• Follow established administrative and documentation procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams to support efficient transportation operations.
• Perform additional operational duties as assigned.
Requirements
• 1–2 years of experience in Carrier Sales, Logistics Operations, Freight Brokerage, or a related transportation role.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. geography and major transportation lanes.
• Strong negotiation skills, particularly when working with carriers.
