Our client is a concentrated growth equity fund focused on enterprise software and frontier AI. Their edge is getting into the companies they want to own before anyone else — not through primary rounds, but through blocks held by funds at the end of their life and shares sitting with former employees who have no path to liquidity. They are building an internal sourcing engine — part human network, part software — to do exactly that. This is the first dedicated hire on it.
The role in one line
Find shares in private companies that other people can't find, and build the broker network and tooling that make finding them repeatable.
What you'll do
• Build and manage relationships with secondaries brokers — largely over WhatsApp — and stay close enough to hear about a block before it's shopped
• Reach out cold to funds sitting on positions they want to exit: end-of-life vehicles, crossover funds under redemption pressure, earlier-stage funds with marks they'd happily crystallise
• Identify and approach former employees of target companies and have a credible,
careful conversation about liquidity
• Map who owns what across the segments the fund underwrites — vintage, pressure points, and how to reach them
• Keep every conversation, block and price in the CRM so there's a live picture of supply, demand and pricing
• Use internal AI agents for outreach drafting, WhatsApp parsing and broker ranking — and identify what to automate next
This is not a research seat or a deal-execution role. No building models for deals you didn't source.
What our client is looking for
Non-negotiable

Alternatively, a demonstrated track record of building your own pipeline from scratch in outbound BD at a fast-growing tech company or in executive search — with verifiable results
• A real track record of cold outreach with measurable outcomes: pipeline built, deal
