Track Team Lead
Position Summary
The Lead Track Engineer is a senior technical leadership role responsible for the planning, design, engineering, and optimization of track geometry and track infrastructure for passenger and freight rail projects.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership and Design
· Lead the development and review of track geometry and railway infrastructure designs in compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
· Serve as the discipline lead for track design on rail and transit projects, making decisions on highly complex issues regarding work approach for project components and completion of team tasks and responsibilities
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to employees at all levels fostering technical excellence within the practice.
· Works cross functionally throughout the organization and collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, utilities, structural, geotechnical, systems, and operations, to ensure design integration, technical alignment, and overall project optimization.




· Demonstrate exceptional initiative, creativity and innovation skills.
· Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, constructability analysis, construction staging, and value engineering exercises.
· Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.
Qualifications
· Preferably 10+ years’ experience in railway track engineering including delivery of complex, multi-discipline rail transit projects.
· Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited University engineering program
· Strong knowledge of industry railway design and construction standards/guidelines such as AREMA, CN, CPKC, TCRP, as well as regulatory requirements such as Transport Canada.
· Demonstrated experience in project management, technical leadership, and client‑facing roles.
