Tax Audit Specialist (Especialista de Impuestos y Auditoría Fiscal)

Role Purpose:
Lead the company’s tax strategy, planning, and compliance in Colombia, ensuring absolute accuracy in accounting records, strict adherence to DIAN and municipal tax regulations, and the execution of internal tax audits. Responsible for mitigating tax risks, managing tax authority audits, handling VAT/Income tax refund claims.
Key Responsibilities
• Tax Compliance & Tax Audit:
• Plan and conduct internal tax audits across all tax filings to identify and resolve compliance risks before official submissions to the DIAN and municipal tax offices.
• Lead the preparation, review, and filing of national and local tax returns: Income Tax (Renta), VAT (IVA), Withholding Tax (Retefuente), Municipal Tax (ICA), and Transfer Pricing.
• Supervise the complete preparation and submission of Exogenous Information (Información Exógena / Medios Magnéticos) for national and municipal authorities.
• Manage and execute tax refund and compensation claims (Devolución y Compensación de Saldos a Favor)



before the DIAN for VAT and Income Tax.
• Act as the primary focal point for DIAN audits, inspections, and formal responses, as well as audit requests from the Revisoría Fiscal (Statutory Auditor).
• Accounting Foundation & Control:
• Ensure accurate accounting entries for tax provisions, withholdings, and accruals in compliance with Colombian NCIF and IFRS/NIIF standards.
• Perform monthly reconciliations between accounting ledgers and tax returns, ensuring full traceability (Conciliación Fiscal).
• Calculate, record, and disclose Deferred Tax (Impuesto Diferido) under IFRS/NIIF.
• Operations:
• Structure and manage the department’s schedule according to the Colombian Tax Calendar (Calendario Tributario).
• Keep the team updated on local tax reforms (Reformas Tributarias), legal decrees, and DIAN rulings.
