Job Summary

We are seeking an IBM iSeries (AS/400) Infrastructure support resource – L1 to provide day-to-day operational monitoring and first-level technical support for enterprise IBM i environments. The idóneo candidate will monitor system health, jobs, backups, storage, network connectivity, and operational alerts while following established procedures and escalating complex issues to L2 and L3 teams.
The role requires strong knowledge of IBM i operational activities, basic troubleshooting skills, incident management, and the ability to work effectively in a 24x7 enterprise production support environment.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Operations
• Monitor IBM i systems, LPARs, jobs, subsystems, and system resources.
• Monitor CPU, memory, disk utilization, system status, and operational alerts.
• Perform daily health checks based on established procedures.
• Monitor production workloads and report abnormal conditions.




• Respond to alerts and operational incidents within defined SLAs.
• Maintain accurate operational logs and shift handover documentation.
Job & Workload Management
• Monitor production jobs and job queues.
• Identify jobs that are stuck, failed, or running abnormally.
• Perform basic job management activities such as holding, releasing, and ending jobs based on approved procedures.
• Monitor Advanced Job Scheduler activities and escalate scheduling failures.
Backup & Recovery Operations
• Monitor scheduled IBM i backups.
• Verify successful completion of backup jobs.
• Identify backup failures and unsaved objects.
• Perform initial troubleshooting of backup issues and escalate unresolved BRMS issues to L2/L3.
• Support backup and recovery activities according to documented procedures.
Security & User Administration
• Perform basic IBM i user administration.
• Create, modify, disable, and remove user profi
