We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with 4‑5 years of hands‑on experience to join the infrastructure team on a hybrid basis in Colombia ??. The DBA will be responsible for the design, implementation, performance tuning , and ongoing maintenance of critical relational databases that support the company’s core applications and services. This role reports to the Lead Infrastructure Engineer and works closely with development, security , and operations teams to ensure data reliability, security, and optimal performance.
? Key Responsibilities
• Design, install, configure, and maintain relational database systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
• Monitor database performance, conduct tuning, and resolve bottlenecks to meet SLA targets. Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Ensure database security through role‑based access control, encryption, and regular audits. Perform capacity planning and scaling activities to support growth.
• Develop and maintain database scripts, automation, and documentation.




• Collaborate with application developers to optimize queries and support release cycles.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and provide 24/7 incident response when needed. Stay current with emerging database technologies and recommend improvements.

✅ Job Requirements
• 4‑5 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator in a production environment. Advanced English proficiency (C1) for clear communication with integral teams.
• Strong expertise in at least two major RDBMS (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server). Proven track record in performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies.
• Hands‑on experience with backup, recovery, and high‑availability solutions.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation.
• Experience with cloud‑based database services (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL).
