We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically strong GAAP & Statutory Accountant to support both U.S. GAAP and NAIC statutory accounting operations.

This role will work closely with Accounting Managers and Controllers to support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, financial reporting, and statutory accounting requirements.

The idóneo candidate has strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, accounting experience, and either working knowledge of NAIC Statutory Accounting Principles (SSAP) or the ability and willingness to develop this knowledge quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes.
• Prepare and record journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting workpapers for:
• Cash accounts
• Accounts Receivable
• Accounts Payable
• Prepaid expenses
• Expense accruals
• Perform variance analysis and investigate significant fluctuations.




• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related footnotes.
• Prepare statutory journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting workpapers in accordance with NAIC SAP / SSAP.
• Support the preparation of NAIC Quarterly and Annual Statements.
• Identify, document, and reconcile differences between GAAP and statutory accounting.
• Maintain accurate and well-organized accounting workpapers and documentation.
• Support improvements to accounting processes and internal controls.
• Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to analyze historical results and improve financial information quality.
• Participate in automation, system implementation, and accounting process improvement projects.
• Leverage technology and AI tools when appropriate to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy.
