Organizational context: The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) serves as the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Job purpose: To manage the necessary components for effective and modern communication of PAHO/WHO in Colombia, with more attractive and innovative content to increase its reach through social networks, the PAHO website, and virtual media in an increasingly competitive digital information market. This aims to strengthen PAHO's reputation, visibility, and influence as the leading health organization in the Americas, and to improve understanding of the Organization's work and impact in the country, particularly during disease outbreaks, public health emergencies, and humanitarian crises. Implement and promote Health Communication to contribute to positive changes in population knowledge, behaviors, and practices, strengthen community participation, and favor disease prevention, environmental risk reduction, and health and well-being protection.
Responsibilities: Support, assist,
and execute the management of internal and external institutional communication through the implementation of a communication plan aligned with the Organization's Strategic Communication Plan, incorporating the Organization's new modern, high-impact vision for digital media (social networks, website, virtual media). Assist in the execution of Health Communication (C4H) implementation, using communication principles and processes to inform and change behaviors and attitudes. Assist technical areas in designing, reviewing content, and evaluating communication campaigns across various platforms, as well as developing materials for dissemination and fundraising. Develop external communication strategies to raise awareness among media and key stakeholders about the importance of strengthening health technical cooperation and resource mobilization.
