We're seeking a Lead Python Developer bringing substantial, practical experience to strengthen our engineering team. Responsibilities

- Design backend API infrastructure and orchestration frameworks that enable integration with large language models
- Develop and maintain advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows, spanning document processing, text segmentation, embedding creation, and refined retrieval mechanisms
- Construct and interconnect agent-driven tooling through frameworks like LangChain and LangGraph, incorporating Model Context Protocol (MCP) as appropriate
- Uphold strong security protocols, data confidentiality, enterprise-grade system visibility, and thorough testing across backend operations
- Take an active part in influencing architectural direction and establishing technical standards across the engineering group
- Partner with frontend engineers, data engineering colleagues, and infrastructure teams to deliver unified, well-integrated solutions

Requirements

- At least five years of hands-on backend engineering work centered on microservices architecture and distributed system principles
- A year or more spent overseeing and directing development teams
- Proven capability using Python to construct high-performance backend systems and cloud-native APIs
- Experience building solutions leveraging Generative AI capabilities




- Applied know-how using LangChain to develop language model-based applications
- Familiarity with AWS, Docker, container management platforms including ECS/EKS, and designing RESTful APIs
- Strong grounding in secure coding approaches paired with solid authentication and authorization expertise
- Sufficient communication ability with English proficiency at B2 level or higher, supporting accurate interpretation of business requirements and their conversion into agent-driven technical designs

Nice to have

- Practical exposure to agent-oriented frameworks including LangChain, LlamaIndex, or LangGraph
- Understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) for enabling consistent context exchange across AI systems
- Ease working with frontend tools, specifically React and TypeScript
- Background applying Terraform for managing and provisioning infrastructure
- Hands-on familiarity with RAG pipeline elements, such as vector databases like Amazon Kendra or OpenSearch, plus embedding methods and retrieval system architecture
- History of building new or modernizing existing large-scale, intricate technical systems
