We are looking for a Senior UI Technical Artist to define the UI tech art systems, materials, and motion language that unify a game UI experience across platforms. You will build reusable templates and polished real-time effects in Unreal Engine while mentoring UI artists.

Responsibilities

- Define the technical art direction for UI materials, motion language, and reusable patterns
- Build highly polished and performant UI tech art solutions using materials, UMG, animation, FX, blueprints, lighting, and camera tools in UE4/5
- Create templates, thematics, and principles that scale across the UI surface and multiple platforms
- Design consistent visual behaviors for transitions, scale, proportion, and interactive feedback
- Plan platform adaptation strategies that balance visual fidelity with runtime performance
- Own UI tech art tooling, pipelines, and asset management to keep production efficient and consistent
- Mentor UI artists and visual designers by sharing best practices and raising craft standards
- Prototype and iterate on hover states, micro-interactions, and motion details that improve UI feel
- Use Sequencer and related tools to deliver camera-driven UI moments and cinematic transitions
- Optimize shaders, textures, and materials to meet performance targets without sacrificing quality
- Partner with UX and UI design to integrate systems cleanly and maintain visual consistency

Requirements

- 5+ years of professional experience as a Technical Artist, UI Tech Artist, or VFX Artist with game UI/front-end exposure
- Strong Unreal Engine 5 experience with Material Editor and Niagara for real-time VFX
- Advanced Sequencer experience for animated transitions and cinematic camera moves
- Expert material systems knowledge including material functions and shader logic




- Advanced UV math skills for complex material and UI effects work
- Strong 3D modeling skills and fluency where 3D meets UI (cameras, lighting, framing)
- Solid real-time lighting and post-process knowledge for mood and atmosphere
- Proven performance optimization skills including profiling and content tuning
- Strong motion design skills including timing, easing, and micro-interactions
- Excellent collaboration skills to elevate established UX/UI designs with technical polish
- High comfort with ambiguous exploratory work to find the right feel for moments and screens
- English proficiency: B2 Upper-Intermediate

Nice to have

- Experience building reusable or modular VFX and material systems for large UI surfaces
- Background in cinematics, trailer work, or environmental mood and lighting design
- Familiarity with UMG workflows and how UI logic interacts with materials and VFX systems
- Experience with AI Assistants in game development workflows
- Gaming industry domain knowledge
