Site Reliability Engineer, Windows

We are seeking an experienced Windows Site Reliability Engineer with a strong automation mindset to join our infrastructure engineering team.

This is a role for an administrator who can independently operate and improve Windows infrastructure in a large, complex engineering environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable combining traditional Windows systems administration with modern Site Reliability Engineering, configuration management, and infrastructure automation practices.

Automation is a core requirement of this position. We expect administrators to automate repetitive operational work rather than rely on manual procedures. Candidates should have hands-on experience developing and maintaining automation and related systems-management or configuration-management technologies.

You will work alongside experienced infrastructure engineers and service owners to build and operate secure, compliant, reliable, and highly automated hybrid infrastructure supporting hardware engineering labs and data centers.

Responsibilities

- Administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve Windows servers and workstations across hardware development labs and data-center environments.
- Develop, maintain, and improve PowerShell automation for provisioning, configuration, maintenance, validation, remediation, and operational tasks.
- Identify repetitive or error-prone manual processes and replace them with reliable, documented automation.
- Automate deployment and configuration of Windows systems using technologies such as PowerShell, Intune, Azure Arc, Ansible, APIs, or similar tooling.
- Maintain and improve existing automation, scripts, configuration-management workflows, and deployment processes.
- Support automated provisioning and lifecycle management of Windows and Linux systems.
- Integrate infrastructure automation with monitoring, logging, security, and compliance processes.
- Troubleshoot Windows operating system, Active Directory, networking, hardware, application, and infrastructure issues.
- Analyze recurring operational problems and develop permanent corrective solutions rather than relying solely on manual remediation.
- Work directly with engineering users to diagnose and resolve infrastructure problems.
- Collaborate with service owners and other infrastructure engineers to improve reliability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
- Participate in peer reviews of scripts, automation, configurations, and operational changes.
- Promote secure system administration practices and standardized infrastructure management.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered:

- BA/BS in Information Technology, Software Engineering,



Computer Science, Engineering, or another technical discipline; or equivalent military, occupational, professional, or hands-on technical experience.
- 4+ years of professional Windows systems administration experience in enterprise, engineering, data-center, or similarly complex environments.
- Strong hands-on Windows Server and Windows workstation administration experience.
- 4+ years of Professional experience writing PowerShell, Python, Shell, or similar scripts for process automation.
- English proficiency, both written and verbal, sufficient to communicate directly with U.S.-based customers and engineering teams. C1-level English proficiency (CEFR/Cambridge), TOEFL equivalent, or comparable professional proficiency is expected.

Automation is not an optional or secondary responsibility in this position.

The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate experience with several of the following:

- Demonstrated ability to automate repetitive systems-administration tasks.
- Experience troubleshooting Windows systems independently in production or business-critical environments.
- Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Strong understanding of PC and server hardware.
- Ability to read, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain existing scripts and automation.
- Strong documentation and technical communication skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work in a fast-paced technical environment.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience administering Windows infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune, Azure Arc, Azure, or comparable systems-management platforms.
- Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar configuration systems
- Experience using Git or another version-control system to manage infrastructure code and scripts.
- Experience with configuration-management or Infrastructure-as-Code concepts.
- Experience designing automated deployment, configuration, or remediation workflows.
- Active Directory and Group Policy administration experience.
- Experience with Windows security configuration, patching, endpoint management, and compliance.
- Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and logging systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot across operating system, network, hardware,



and application layers.

Bonus Experience

Experience in any of the following will help candidates stand out:

- Ansible playbook development and administration
- Python or another scripting/programming language
- CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure automation
- Experience supporting engineering, R&D;, semiconductor, hardware-development, or laboratory environments.

Work Hours

9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

This is a remote position supporting a U.S.-based client and requires regular real-time communication in English.

Compensation

Typical base pay for this role across Colombia is 5,400,000 to 6,600,000 per month, based on experience and fit.
