Intermediate Senior Power System Studies Engineer

Role Overview

This position requires a professional with demonstrated experience in proposal development process who is motivated by clients interaction while developing new opportunities for the Power Area. The successful candidate is expected to be self‑motivated, possess strong conceptualization skills, and have solid interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both decision‑makers and project teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Feasibility studies.
- System impact studies.
- Reactive power compensation studies.
- Protection relay settings.
- Critical clearing time analysis.
- Stability studies (transient and dynamic).
- Short- and long-term planning studies.
- Load flow analysis.
- Motor starting.
- Power factor correction.

Key Competencies/Skills/Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in large-scale transmission system planning and/or EMT-based design studies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to prepare proposals, reports, and technical presentations.
- Experience with analysis software such as DIGSILENT, PSSE, PSLF, PSCAD, ASPEN, ATP, or other equivalents.
- Ability to perform successfully in a customer‑oriented, project‑based environment.
- Ability to provide mentorship and leadership to junior engineers on the team.

Desirable Qualifications

- Master’s degree (MSc) or Doctorate (PhD).
- Experience in Python scripting.
- Experience in modeling HVDC and FACTS systems, as well as in modeling inverter-based resources (IBRs).
